Every project runs through the same five steps, whether it's a homeowner updating a railing or a builder ordering a new staircase. We measure, build in our Whitehall shop, install railings, and deliver complete staircases ready to set. Below is what each step produces and how long it takes.

Photos and a budget range
Most projects start with a phone call, not a site visit. Send us a few photos of your staircase and we can usually give you a realistic budget range over the phone before anyone comes out.
Step 02A few days
Choose your style
Once the budget works, we help you choose the wood species, handrail profile, baluster pattern, and finish to match your home. Then you get a written quote with the scope spelled out.
Step 03About 1 hour, when needed
Measuring
If the job needs an on-site measure of the rough opening, we set one up. Curved and custom staircases get shop drawings to approve before anything is cut.
Step 044–6 weeks (8–12 for curved)
Built in our Whitehall shop
Your staircase is built in our Whitehall shop from the approved drawings and field measurements. We deliver it unfinished, so the finish can be matched to your floors on site.
Step 051–3 days on site · or delivered ready to set
Installation and delivery
We install railings, iron baluster swaps, and tread replacements ourselves. A complete new staircase is delivered ready for installation, and we return to install the railing.
