These are the questions we hear most often before a project starts.
It depends on the size of the staircase, materials, and how much you’re changing. Send us a few photos and we can usually give you a realistic budget range over the phone before anyone comes out. If that range makes sense, we’ll take the next step from there.
We’ve been building stairs since 1987.
Snyder Stairs started in a two-car garage in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, in 1987. What began as a small stair shop grew through local builders, contractors, and homeowners who kept coming back and referring the next job.
As the business grew, so did the shop. We moved from Phillipsburg to a larger space in Easton, and eventually to our current location in Whitehall in 2008.
The work has changed over the years, too. New construction was a much bigger part of the business early on. Today, we still build custom staircases, but we also do a lot of railing replacement, tread replacement, restoration work, and stair and railing parts.
Two generations later, we’re still a family-owned business, working out of the same Whitehall shop where our projects are measured, planned, fit, and prepared today.

It means the people you talk to are the same people doing the work, and when you have a question there is always someone here who knows your project.
