New floors, a kitchen remodel, or just a home that's ready for an update — the staircase is often one of the last things left looking dated. We can replace the railing, update the treads and risers, or help you figure out how much of the existing staircase actually needs to change.

- Staining, sanding, or refinishingWe deliver unfinished and don't sand existing stairs — your finisher stains and seals to match. We'll point you to good ones.
- Installing complete new stairs in finished homesFor a whole new staircase in a finished home, we fabricate and deliver, and your GC sets it. Less disruption, faster turnaround.
- Caulking, puttying, paint, drywalladjacent work like caulking, putty, painting, drywall and spackle is better left for a dedicated tradesmen

Common questions, honest answers.
How disruptive is the work?
Most railing installations take 1–2 days, and we keep the work area as contained as possible. For tread replacement, the staircase may be unusable while we're working, but we'll let you know exactly what to expect before we start. We protect the surrounding floors, clean up at the end of the day, and remove the old material when we're finished.
What if something doesn't look right after install?
Call us. If there's an issue with our work, we'll come back and take care of it. You're dealing directly with the same local shop before, during, and after the project, so there's always someone you can reach who knows the job.
How long does fabrication take?
About 85% of our work — standard rail replacements, tread swaps — runs four to six weeks of fabrication. Custom newel posts and curved-stair work run eight to twelve weeks. An iron baluster swap on an existing stair is usually a one-day job with very little mess. We'll confirm the timeline on the first call before you ever commit.
Do I need to know my budget before I call?
Not exactly. If you have a number you'd like to stay around, tell us. We can usually tell you pretty quickly what's realistic at that budget and where different material or design choices will move the price. The goal is to get you into the right range before you spend a lot of time designing the project.
Can I get a budget range before anyone comes out?
Yes. Send us a few photos of your staircase (the existing stair, the floor it has to match, and the room around it) and tell us what you'd like to change. We can usually give you a realistic budget range over the phone before anyone comes out. It's not a final bid, but it's accurate enough to decide if the project fits your budget. The final number firms up once we've picked parts, with an in-home measure only if the job calls for it (also free, no commitment).
How soon will I hear back after I send photos?
Once we've looked at your photos, we'll call you back with a realistic budget range. If you call during shop hours (Mon–Fri 8:00–4:30), you'll usually talk to someone that day. The person who calls you works in our Whitehall shop, so you're talking to someone who knows the job.
Do I need to know what style I want before contacting you?
No. Most homeowners arrive with vague intent ("something that matches the floors") and find their style at the showroom. You can take sample blocks of finishes and baluster patterns home from the showroom visit. Can the showroom visit happen on a weekend?
No — the shop is open Mon–Fri 8A–4:30P. Walk-ins are welcome with no appointment needed for a look around, and calling ahead at (610) 443-2240 means the right person is there to walk you through it.
